Lou Reed (1942 to 2013)

When I heard on NPR that Lou Reed passed away, I had to post a photograph I took two years ago.

 

Easy Street Records on Lower Queen Anne always jumped at me because of its almost electric blue painted exterior and of course, the autographed hand painted portrait of Lou Reed on the door of its shipping-and-receiving area. The record store is now gone. Its building has been torn down to build a new structure. It feels strange not to see that almost familiar electric blue and Lou.

I have full-length scarves for men (and for the ladies too!) . The yarn is proudly made in the U.S.A. and hand knit in a smoke-free and pet-free flat in Seattle. The scarves are practical and machine-washable yet stylish with a reversible pattern. Also coming soon to my shop.

Keeping Busy, Part 1

Even though my blog has been quiet for the last few weeks, I was quite busy working on items for my shop. In the age of emails, social media, and text messaging, good old-fashioned mail still endures. Perhaps most of us still appreciate something tangible or tactile coming from someone far away.

Some things are still around, like this

packaging and the taste has not changed

though the pretzel sticks now have

words printed on them. This particular

one made me smile today.
