After seeing the design on my friend's cup of cappuccino, I just could not resist taking a photo and turning it into a valentine.

Another Sunday, another half-marathon run
Since November of last year, I have been running a half-marathon (21.1 km) every Sunday. I circle Lake Union twice until I reach my target distance as indicated by my phone's GPS.
Running outdoors in the cold and rainy months can be a challenge. I found a pair of good running shoes that keep my feet warm and dry plus allow me to run safely on wet and slippery surfaces. It has not snowed in Seattle this winter and I have been lucky to run on mostly dry Sunday mornings or afternoons.
I never imagined that I could run this far and this long until I finally started doing it. On average, it takes me 2 hours and 6 minutes and I hope to improve my speed. I only stop for traffic lights or when I have to wait for one of the bridges to open for traffic. The Freemont Bridge (pictured below, raised up to let sailboats through the canal) is the first one that I cross and it is the shortest bridge my running route.
After I complete my long run, it is nice to have a treat before my walk home. Obviously, there are no guilty feelings here.

Sweet Treats
I came upon these cupcakes while doing some grocery shopping earlier. Though Valentine's day is still in a couple of weeks, my sister and I could use some sweet treats (and yes, we are going to let these cupcakes last for several days) and I would also like to practice food photography on them before they vanish.
